Today we have the pleasure of talking with Rachel McCrystal, executive director at the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. Rachel shares her vision of a world where animals are not created for the purpose of fulfilling our own human desires – specifically farm animals that are bred to become suffering bodies that are mass-produced and kept in terrible confined spaces and left to suffer in their own feces and disease, before they make their final destination, onto a person’s plate.
We encourage you to make a trip to the farm sanctuary where each animal is an ambassador for its larger cohorts, and whether you give a hug to the loving turkey Beatrice or visit Andy the pig or Olly the goat, you will be touched by their messages told through the medium of a sanctuary. While the chips may be stacked against Rachel and her unrelenting drive to see a better tomorrow, there’s no disputing that the world needs more advocates like Rachel to improve our collective consciousness.
