My personal journey is not unique: Growing up in Luxembourg, I went from an omnivore, cheese loving life, to being pescatarian when I first moved to the US in 2010. This decision was triggered by my lack of love for the taste of meat and by my knowledge about modern agriculture as well as meat production in general. I moved back to Paris where I slowly transitioned into being vegetarian, which is culturally a bit offensive in France 😉
When I moved to NYC in 2013, I discovered all the joys of plant based foods. After completing my yoga teacher training, and getting more exposure to the compassion side of eating, I decided to go vegan.
During my urban studies graduate program, I started thinking more and more about health in our cities. As much as cities are wonderful places for us to live a fulfilling, exciting and innovative life, we also often forget to take care of ourselves and the constant stresses can take a toll on our body. Food is the essence of health and eating real, whole, plant based foods is the best way to manage our crazy city lives and stay healthy.
Ever since I adopted a plant based diet, I feel for the first time in my life that I really eat what I love. It makes me happy and is good for my health, the animals and the environment. Having taken my passion to the next level, I have a plant based nutrition certificate from Cornell as well as health coach certificate from the Health Coach Institute. I love the science behind eating certain foods and how they affect our physical and mental health and I love helping others to become healthy and their best selves.
